So, the next play has been revealed and Annie Norris fresh from the triumphs of ‘Talking Heads’ is stepping into the director’s chair fully. As she says herself:
“Well…if you enjoyed our production of ‘Talking Heads’, we hope you will join us for our next production which is ‘Murder Deferred’ by Stuart Ready. This is a murder mystery – no surprise there then! – set in The Hay Wain, an inn in a Dorset village. There are seven diverse characters involved giving good opportunities for the cast and rehearsals are already underway at our base in the church hall of St Francis of Assisi in West Wickham. Leila Markham is the licensee of said Inn, aided and abetted by Mrs Bolders a local woman who does odd jobs for her. Colonel Fountain and Minnie Akers friends from the village become involved, as does Trudi Bauer a Swiss student staying with Leila. The Barman an interesting character – and Ruth Cousins, who arrives knowing rather too much about Leila – complete the cast. There are some neat little twists in this tale – so come along and join us. Performances are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday – 4, 5, 6 July.”
I shall certainly be popping into rehearsals every so often and hope to tease further feedback and insight from Annie, cast and crew as the weeks pass by and, ultimately, look forward to joining some of you in the audience for this one.
I’ll be posting some more photos from past productions in the forthcoming days in a bid to swell the archive and provide a few reminiscences of plays gone by but til then, have a good one.
